Hearing Instruments Bte Hearing and Oticon Dual Mini
Hearing aids are often made to meet different needs. This is why they come in various types and are worn as different styles. The different styles of this ear instrument are: In The Canal (ITC), Completely In The Canal (CIC), Behind The Ear (BTE) and Receiver In The Ear (RITE). Each of these styles and types are made the way they are in order to meet one need or the other in people faced with the challenge of hear loss. The BTE hearing aid for example is used to help people to hear who are suffering from mild to severe hearing losses.
The other types and styles equally have their own areas of strength, which will include resolving mild to moderate and acute hearing losses. The Dual mini series that has been produced by oticon INC., for instance is built as a RITE hearing aid that is designed to help people who suffer serious and high frequency hearing loss.
This is the reason why Oticon says this product offers a better choice of a BTE hearing aid because it produces less confusing sound caused by tube resonance. What does this mean then? Is this saying that right in the ear hearing aids are better than behind the ear models?
No!!! because every type of hearing aid does have an advantage, benefit or function that makes it the best choice in a given situation. Consequently, hearing aid choice is often hinged on particular situations with other factors considered.
To elaborate a bit further, it will be kind of necessary for you to appreciate the benefits or if you like functions that each type or style of hearing aid offers.
There are however, three essential benefits, which BTE hearing aids offer that cannot be obtained from a right in your ear dual mini cannot deliver. The first is the easy replacement of the ear molds when they no longer fit (this is the reason why this type is often used by kids). The second is that they are not spoiled easily by wax from the inner ear like the RITE hearing aids that is placed in the inner ear, where they are not placed.
The last benefit is that they are more affordable and can be changed or adjusted. A major disadvantage however, is that they can be easily seen when worn as they are placed behind the ear(s) unlike the oticon dual mini.
An advantage that RITE technology has for users is the non-distortion of sound that you will find in BTE hearing aids. This comes as a result of the receiver or speaker's position, which is found right inside the ear so sound from outside need not travel through a tube as it is with BTE models.
